Tá ár scoil páirteach sa scéim Say Yes to Languages le trí bliana anuas. Sa chéad bhliain, d’fhoghlaim ár ndaltaí ISL (Teanga Chomharthaíochta na hÉireann) le Michelle O’Connor. Sa dara bliain den scéim, tugadh isteach an Fhraincis, agus bhí Oonagh Collins ag múineadh na ndaltaí. Bhí an dá thaithí fíorluachmhar agus d’oscail siad súile na bpáistí do shaibhreas teangacha eile.
I mbliana, táimid ag tnúth go mór le Spáinnis a thosú le Teresa Merino le Rang 5 agus Rang 6. Tá sceitimíní ar na páistí agus ar an bhfoireann araon chun teanga nua a fhoghlaim agus cultúr nua a fhiosrú.
Our school has been participating in the Say Yes to Languages programme for the past three years. In the first year, our pupils learned ISL (Irish Sign Language) with Michelle O’Connor. In the second year of the programme, French was introduced and taught by Oonagh Collins. Both experiences were extremely valuable and helped broaden the children’s awareness of other languages and cultures.
This year, we are very much looking forward to beginning Spanish with Teresa Merino for 5th and 6th Class. Both staff and pupils are excited to learn a new language and explore a new culture.
